Jan and I have lived in the Smith County area all of our lives. We have been married for 35 years and have three beautiful daughters: Tara, Amanda, and Jana. We love the outdoors and are very familiar with the Smith County and surrounding areas. Jan and I ran a very successful sporting goods business for 12 years before we put our efforts toward real estate. We have been in real estate now for almost 14 years. In 1994, my career began with another local real estate company. However, in 1996, along with a fellow realtor, I opened the 1st Multiple Listing Service office in Smith County. In 1997, Jan also became a Realtor as we formed the "Hometown Team", Joey and Jan Bowman. During this same year, the induction of our auction company became part of Cumberland Real Estate & Auction. I received my broker's license in 1998 and became managing broker of the Gordonsville Office. 1999 was a busy year, I built a new building at 507 Gordonsville Hwy. and later in the year I became one of the owners investing in Cumberland Real Estate & Auction. In 2001 I sold my ownership in Cumberland Real Estate and Auction. The very next day we were open as Cumberland Valley Realty and Auction. We are located just off of I-40 at the 258 Carthage/Gordonsville exit. I have completed my GRI/Graduate Realtor Institute, my ABR/Accredited Buyers Representative certificates and recently completed my SRES senior residential specialist. My wife and I are also consecutive recipients of the Silver, Gold and Platinum Awards of Excellence, respectively. In 2002, we were inducted into the Circle of Excellence as lifetime members. In 2004 I received the Decade of Achievement Award and in 2007 Jan received her Decade of Achievement Award respectively.

My name is Shirley Jones and in July 2008 I will have been a realtor for 20 years.
After starting a career in Jamestown, TN for one year, I moved to Cookeville for the next 12 years with Century 21. I came back home to Smith County and currently work with Cumberland Valley Realty & Auction.
I often tell my clients toplease forgive me if I sound totally predjudiced and partial to this. After living out of the state for 28 years I can appreciate even more, the great place we call Middle Tennessee.
